![]() ![]() I cannot believe that as of writing this, 5 out of 5 people prefer Talos Principle to The Witness. Maybe their connection became apparent later, but there was nothing to make me want to find out. I unlocked a couple of the story(?) segments before I quit and got bored watching, since it just seemed to be random videos with no connection to anything. Even though different puzzles had different mechanics, it felt like I was doing the same thing over and over to the point of tedium. The environments are interesting and some of the puzzles are satisfying to complete, but I got very bored doing nothing but fill in squares with dots and lines. I love this style of puzzle game as well as sci-fi and philosophy, so when I found this game it felt like it had been made specifically to appeal to me! It also has a fascinating story to uncover that kept me hooked throughout and made me think. It was also a beautifully realised world from both a visual and audio perspective, giving it a sense of grandeur and wonder. The puzzles were clever, sometimes frustrating, but usually built on previous mechanics and used the world and environment in very interesting ways.
